Chasing Squirrels in Retrospect
A debut novel
by Stephanie Lawless
Stephanie Lawless is originally from Widnes in North West
England but now lives in Northamptonshire. Similarly to the
character Georgia in the book, she is short, sarcastic and really
rather loud. She is a dual-national (as her Mum is American), has
two small tattoos and can't abide raisins. So that's
nice.
Since May 2010 Stephanie has worked as Community Fundraising Manager for the charity Dogs for Good (previously known as Dogs for the Disabled) in Banbury, Oxfordshire, and manages a team of four regional fundraisers and a fundraising and events administrator. Aside from being an excellent charity, Dogs for the Disabled provides additional perks such as office dogs, the chance to play with puppies, and the real chance to make a difference to the lives of some incredible and inspiring people.
Previously Stephanie worked for 4.5 years at Diabetes UK
in Warrington, Cheshire. She was Regional Fundraising Manager for
the North West and therefore organised participants for the Great
Manchester Run, Great North Swim, various sponsored walks and other
such things.
Stephanie recently graduated (with Merit) from a Charities
MSc in Voluntary Sector Management, based at Cass Business School
in London. While proud of her achievement, Steph concluded that
undertaking two years of further education whilst working full-time
is a truly ridiculous idea.
